Curriculum Overview


Where Learning and Laughter grow in Faith


Religion:
Hail Mary, Bless Us O' Lord, and Our Father are taught on a daily basis throughout the year.  In January the children start to attend weekly Mass.  Every day our children learn about their faith through the Image of God series.

Math:
Number recognition, number quantity, one to one correspondence, shapes, sequencing, as well as more or less and equal are taught.

Language Arts:
The Reading and Language program consists of the following activities: letter of the week, alphabet books, and Scholastic's Weekly Reader.

Science:
Let's Find Out Magazine, Fire/Health Unit, and various other seasonal topics.

Social Studies:
Community helpers, work or phone numbers, and address identification.

Handwriting:
Our handwriting series Get Set For School teaches the children how to write letters, numbers and shapes.

P.E.:
We work on our gross motor skills.  No gym uniforms needed.

Music:
Weekly class with Mrs. Z. and the Kindergarten class includes: classroom songs, as well as thematic songs to help us learn rhythm as well as reinforce concepts being taught.

Art:
Seasonal activities including: painting, coloring, cutting, gluing, and tearing to help define fine motor skills.
